Statistics regarding this illness indicate that approximately 7%-8% of people in the United States will likely develop PTSD in their lifetime, with the lifetime occurrence in combat veterans and rape victims ranging from 10% to as high as 30%. New treatment modalities have been discovered in the past 20 years that help to relieve PTSD quickly and with much less painful emotion than more conventional therapies.
